Big Toe the Supine Pose

Padangusthasana, better known as Big Toe or Supine Pose, is a standing yoga asana that helps to strengthen the legs, improve posture, and decrease stress. It opens the hips, stretches the hamstrings, and stimulates the abdominal organs. With a regular practice of this pose, practitioners find relief from sciatica and lower back pain. This pose also has the effect of toning the muscles of the panchakarma areas, as well as bringing clarity to the mind and reducing fatigue. Supine variations of the pose offer added intensity and stretch to the hamstrings. With the right alignment and practice, Big Toe Pose can lead to a deeper opening of the body and a healthier physique.
